Government of Jammu and Kashmir: JKSSB Announces New Recruitment

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has recently released a notification for the recruitment of Foresters and Social Forestry Workers in the Forest, Ecology & Environment Department. This recruitment drive, detailed in Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2022 and Advertisement Notification No. 03 of 2021 & 2022, aims to fill various Division Cadre posts.

Overview of the Recruitment

The purpose of this article is to provide comprehensive information about the recruitment process, including the syllabus and key details.

Syllabus for Forester Post

The written test for the Forester position will be objective type and conducted in English. It will assess candidates on their scientific, analytical, and numerical aptitude, as well as their general awareness across a range of subjects.

Section A: Basic Science (32 Marks)

In this section, candidates will be tested on their knowledge of basic science subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Section B: Basic Numerical Ability (32 Marks)

This part of the exam will evaluate candidates’ skills in areas such as data interpretation, profit & loss, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics.

Section C: General Knowledge (24 Marks)

Candidates will be assessed on their knowledge of current events, history, geography, Indian polity, and general issues related to forests, wildlife, environment, biodiversity, and climate change.

Section D: Logical Reasoning (16 Marks)

Logical reasoning and analytical ability will be tested in this section.

Section E: Decision Making (16 Marks)

This section aims to evaluate candidates’ decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Syllabus for Social Forestry Worker Post

The written test for the Social Forestry Worker position will also be objective type and conducted in English. It will assess candidates on their scientific, analytical, and numerical aptitude, as well as their general awareness.

Section 1: Basic Mathematics (32 Marks)

Candidates will be tested on topics like percentage, average, time, work and distance, ratio and proportion, and more.

Section 2: Basic Reasoning (32 Marks)

This section will evaluate candidates on analogies, relationship concepts, figure series completion, and other reasoning skills.

Section 3: Basic English (32 Marks)

Candidates’ English proficiency will be assessed, including knowledge of articles, synonyms, antonyms, prepositions, and more.

Section 4: General Awareness and Science (24 Marks)

Candidates will be tested on general current events, sports, Indian culture, history, geography, and specific knowledge related to Jammu and Kashmir.
